[formerly] My 1961 NSU Quickly L

Marc's 1961 Quickly L I bought this as a 1962 version at an online auction, but the frame-plate told me 1961 is the correct year.

From the pictures, I knew it was not in a perfect shape, but restorable, and thought the price was oke. But when I had it actually within reach, it was seemed abit worse then the initial looks had showen. I took it apart, to start the restauration.

I always thought the Quickly L's had a cover over the handle bar, and had two-colored frames and covers, but I soon learned that some L's where assembled in the Netherlands, and that the current configuration of my moped was correct, apart from the 26" wheels, as the dutch L's had 25" wheel. But as the 25" is very hard to get, most people use the 26" version used on almost all other Quickly models.

November 2002 this moped moved to my father, as I have a new one to drive. During 2003, my father spend a lot of time investigation the content of the boxes I gave him. And that investigation showed things were not half as good as we had thought, and we decided that the purchase price had been too high. A lesson learned.

Several purchases from Motzke and eBay later, the bike is almost done.

Current state The finishing touches need to be done to the rear mudgaurd; we could not fix the original one, but a replacement once from an online auction is ready for painting.

I was able to get a very good set of 25-inch tires to replace the cracked slicks that where mounted when we bought the moped, so hopefully it's now all done before the season starts.
